In 2018 8 Outdoor celebrated its first International Women’s Day with a hand-picked selection of 8 of the most inspirational women in history. After launching our Inspirational Breakfast program in 2017 and 21 inspirational events later, 8 Outdoor have now partnered with Digital Cinema Media (DCM) to host their own International Women’s Day Breakfast event with over 100 guests attending.
Our Inspirational Breakfast: International Women’s Day 2019, in partnership with DCM, takes place at the Everyman cinema, King’s Cross, where we will be hosting a panel of inspirational and ambitious women in the media industry, chaired by our very own sales director Fiona Ravlic, addressing #BalanceForBetter.
This year’s panel will bring Nicola Kemp (Trends Editor, Campaign), Sue Unerman (Chief Transformation Officer, MediaCom), Karen Stacey (CEO, Digital Cinema Media) and Gill Huber (Chief Client Officer, Posterscope) to the first event of its kind for 8 Outdoor and DCM.
2018 has brought many challenges to many groups of people, including professional women. That’s why this year we decided to vote for inspirational women from 2018 to showcase 8 of the most influential and inspiring women from the past year:
- Michelle Obama
- Katie Piper
- Serena Williams
- Ariana Grande
- Kris Hallenga
- Oprah Winfrey
- Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
- Lady Gaga
Of course, there are so many more women out there who are pushing the boundaries and that’s why International Women’s Day means more than just one day of the year for us.
Our monthly Inspirational Breakfasts initiative, which brings women from media industry together to discuss issues and to be inspired, continues to be a huge part of 8 Outdoor’s culture and mission.
Happy International Women’s Day!
